A. Its origins are fro the Dominican Replubic.

Q. Where does Modern Style Bachata come from and what is it?
A. It began in Europe mainly Italy & Spain but it is now present in nearly every continent in the World. It is basically a fusion of Bachata’s Basic Steps and Body Movements blended with steps, turn patterns and styling from Salsa, Cha cha, Tango, Zouk and many more.

Q. Do I need to learn Salsa before trying Bachata?
A. No, but it would be wise to learn how to Salsa because 90% of the music played in clubs is Salsa.

Q. Why do DJs play so little Bachata?
A. DJs need to be encouraged to play it by the crowd they are playing to. It is always a good idea to request it. After all a DJ is there to please the crowd.

Q. Will Bachata be more popular than Salsa?
A. No, It should hopefully be as popular as Salsa.

Q. After doing a Bachata Bootcamp or Workshop I found that I could learn so much from it?
A. Bachata is slower and its foundations are very easy, most people who have been exposed to Salsa will usually find Bachata much easier to learn and dance.

Q. Is Bachata a close dance?
A. Yes and No. It all depends who you are dancing with. Remember if you do not feel comfortable in Dancing close to someone DONT!
