I love Bachata was invented in 2003 and was the brainchild of Tony Lara.
Tony was passionate about dancing and teaching, for many years he learnt Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha, Flamenco etc but he felt something was missing until he found Bachata and the universe opened up to him. It was that connection and sensuality that made his dancing complete. He also realised that through Bachata he could teach people how to isolate their body movement, develop good leading and following skills, be creative and have alot of fun.
I Love Bachata is not only a dance company and a website, it is a benchmark of what true passion can achieve! Thanks to Tony’s vision Bachata is now being danced and enjoyed by millions Worldwide!
I Love Bachata Achievements
Tony and I love Bachata have helped promote and create a style of Bachata developed in Europe called Modern Style Bachata. It takes the simple Bachata basic steps and sensual body movements and fuses them with steps and turn patterns from Tango, Cha Cha, Zouk, Salsa and many other dances. The end result is a passionate, sexy and exciting way of dancing.
Tony and I Love Bachata have also played what is probably the biggest role in making Bachata a worldwide phenomenon. In 2005 they made a mayor breakthrough by introducing Bachata into the Worlds most important Salsa Congresses (UK, Los Angeles, Zurich amd Sydney) attracting literally 1000s of Salseros to attend their workshops. This gave Bachata enormous exposure and respect.
Once Modern Style Bachata got the exposure it needed, the demand for people to learn more about it was overwhelming so Tony and I love Bachata began the Worlds first Bachata tours teaching Workshops, Bootcamps and Weekenders. To date they have been to 100s of Festivals, 1000s of cities and have taught 100s of 1000s of students in 4 different continents (Europe, America, Asia and Australasia) to dance, feel passionate and be creative in dancing Bachata.
Tony and I love Bachata also produced the Worlds first successful series of Bachata Instructional DVDs aimed at Salseros. They now have released 5 DVDs which have been sold and practised in over 50 Countries in the World..
Modern Style Bachata has made such an impact thanks to Tony and his team, that you can now see Teachers and Dancers all over the World dancing and promoting this unique and creative style of dancing Bachata.
Tony also being an honoured DJed in the UK and Los Angeles, played a vital role in promoting and exposing Modern Style Bachata music to DJs, Teachers and Dancers where ever he went. Today you will hear DJs playing Bachata all over the World!
